While I agree that young people are the bedrock of future development, I believe that a balanced approach, which also addresses the needs of current infrastructure and older generations, is essential.

Admittedly, investing in the youth yields the highest long-term return on investment. Young people are the future workforce, innovators, and leaders of a country. By allocating significant resources to education, vocational training, and mental health services, governments can foster a generation that is capable of solving complex problems, such as climate change and technological disruption. For instance, countries that heavily subsidized STEM education have seen rapid economic growth as they successfully transitioned into technology hubs. When a government empowers its youth, it is essentially investing in the drivers of future economic and social progress.

However, viewing investment in the youth as the only or "best" way to prepare for the future is somewhat reductive. A nation is a complex ecosystem where different generations rely on one another.
