The maps illustrate the changes that took place in the village of Ryemouth between 1995 and the present day.

Overall, the village has undergone significant modernization, characterized by the expansion of residential and recreational facilities at the expense of natural areas and the fishing industry.

In 1995, the northern part of the village consisted mainly of a forest park and farmland. A hotel and a cafe were situated near the central road, which led to several housing units. To the west, there was a row of shops and fish markets serviced by a nearby fishing port.

By the present day, the landscape has transformed considerably. The forest park and farmland in the north have been replaced by golf and tennis courts, and a new car park has been built near the unchanged hotel. Furthermore, the shops and fish markets in the west have been demolished and replaced with restaurants and apartments, while the fishing port has been removed entirely. Additional housing and a new road have also been developed in the western sector.
