The three pie charts illustrate information about electronic game players in South Korea, including their age groups, gender distribution, and preferred types of games.
Overall, males made up the vast majority of electronic game players in South Korea. In terms of age, the proportions of players under 18 and those aged 18–36 were almost identical and together accounted for more than three-quarters of all gamers. Regarding game preferences, role-playing games were by far the most popular category, whereas educational games were the least favoured.
Looking first at age distribution, players under the age of 18 represented the largest share at 39%, closely followed by those aged 18–36 at 38%. By contrast, gamers over 36 years old accounted for only 23% of the total. As for gender, electronic gaming was significantly more popular among males, who comprised 72% of all players, while females made up the remaining 28%.
Turning to game preferences, role-playing games were the most popular type, attracting 43% of players. Sports games ranked second with 20%, while racing games were preferred by 17% of gamers. The proportions for action games and educational games were much lower, at 7% and 6% respectively. Similarly, other types of games accounted for just 7% of preferences.
