The maps illustrate the changes that took place in the museum in two years: 1998 and 2008.

Overall, the area underwent significant redevelopment, becoming larger and more modern. What also stands out in the diagrams is that several new facilities and amenities were introduced, while some original features were removed or replaced.

In 1998, upon entering through the main door, visitors firts encountered the ticket office, a temporary exhibition room, a shop and a large garden. There was a WC room and a bags-and-coats section in the bottom-right corner of the plan. The remaining area was occupied with permanent exhibition rooms; a cafe was located at the top of the layout.

After a decade, the ticket office, entrance, cafe and the garden remained unchanged throughout the period, while the temporary exhibition room was relocated to the left-hand side of the museum. Furthermore, the bags-and-coats and the shop were moved to the bottom left-corner of the layout.

The majority of changes occurred in the centre of the area, where a new cafe sitting area and fountains were constructed inside the garden. The cafe was flanked by a replaced WC on its right, and a newly added restaurant on its left, whereas the remaining area was owned by permanent exhibition rooms.
