The table compares data on the number of international visitor arrivals in eight nations—France, the US, Spain, the UK, Italy, Turkey, China, and Germany—in 2009 and 2010, with changing rates.
Overall, the number of international visitors increased in all seven countries except France. France had the highest number of visitors and remained unchanged over the period, while Germany recorded the lowest figure. Moreover, Germany experienced the largest increase over the period.
Regarding the first five countries, France remained unchanged at 76 million international tourists, while the number of visitors to the US rose minimally from 66 million to 67 million. Meanwhile, with a change rate 1.5%, Spain and the UK accounted for 55 million visitors, before increasing slightly to 56 million and 57 million, respectively, representing increases 1.8% and 3.6%. Following this, Italy also rose from 44 million to 45 million international tourists, whith a change rate 2.3%.
Turning to the last three nations, the number of international tourists in Turkey increased significantly from 33 million to 45 million visitors, with a change rate 33%. By contrast, the number of international tourists in China increased significantly from 22 million to 34 million visitors, with a change rate 55%, while the fiagure of Germany rose dramatically from 11 million to 23 million, representing a 109% increase.
