The line graph illustrates the proportion of citizens satisfied with their healthcare systems in four countries—Canada, the UK, the Netherlands, and the US—from 1991 to 2007.

Overall, the Netherlands maintained the highest and most consistent satisfaction levels throughout the period. In contrast, Canada experienced significant volatility, while the UK and the US saw gradual but modest improvements, despite remaining at the lower end of the scale.

In 1991, Canada had the highest satisfaction rate at approximately 58%. However, this figure plummeted sharply to just 20% by 1998, before recovering to roughly 40% by the end of the period. The Netherlands, meanwhile, showed remarkable stability, with satisfaction levels stagnating at just under 50% for the entire 16-year duration.

The UK and the US started at much lower levels of satisfaction, at roughly 22% and merely 10% respectively. Over the following years, the UK experienced a steady climb to reach 28% in 2007. Similarly, the US saw marginal growth, ending the period with a satisfaction rate of approximately 12%.
